Operation Christmas Child

We need filled shoeboxes to be returned to the church by Sunday 30 October
to allow time for sorting/packing/transportation in time for overseas delivery by Christmas.

For over 25 years, Samaritan’s Purse have been collecting shoeboxes filled with gifts and delivering them to children in need around the world. Each box is an opportunity for a boy or girl to experience the love of God in a tangible way and to hear the Gospel. Many boys and girls who receive shoebox gifts also enrol in a follow-up discipleship program, The Greatest Journey, where they learn to follow Christ and share Him with others. It all starts with a simple gift.

Here at Chapel Hill Uniting Church, we have been participating in Operation Christmas Child for quite a few years, and it’s on again this year. Filling a shoebox to bring joy to a needy child is a lot of fun, and it’s not difficult!  If you need more information, contact Denise on  0438 138 227.

Pick up a specially-printed shoebox from church, or use a shoebox of your own (with a lid no larger than an A4 sheet of paper).

Choose a boy or girl and age group (2-4, 5-9 or 10-14) and fill your shoebox with gifts. Click here for suggestions on what to include.

Most importantly, pray for the child who will receive your gift. Include a personal note and photo.

A donation of $10 is critical to cover shipping and other project costs. If you give online through Follow Your Box you can discover the destination of your shoebox (details below).

Every shoebox must be clearly labelled. If you ordered Follow Your Box labels, do not photocopy the barcoded label as it will not scan .

Drop your filled shoebox(es) off at CHUC  by Sunday 30 October at the latest, so that they can be processed in time for delivery before Christmas.

FOLLOW YOUR BOX – HOW TO GET TRACKING LABELS
If you give the requested $10 per shoebox donation online you will receive a unique barcoded tracking label for each of your shoeboxes. During processing, the barcode is scanned and a link is emailed to you so that you can track each of your shoeboxes online and see where it goes. To donate online visit operationchristmaschild.org.au/shoeboxdonations.
