The McKay Patrol, a ministry of the Uniting Church, covers about 625 000 sq km of far western Queensland and the Northern Territory, with a population of about 10 000. Based in Cloncurry, it partners with other denominations to conduct worship services, baptisms, weddings and funerals, and to offer pastoral care and practical help to some of the most remote communities and grazing properties in the country. The Patrol Padre covers this large area by four-wheel drive and light aircraft.
